David teaches trombone, has been a member of the South Florida Symphony, the State Symphony of Mexico, and bass trombonist with the Omaha Symphony, Opera/Omaha and Lincoln Symphony Orchestra. He also served as principal trombone and bass trombone with the Albany Symphony and as principal trombone for the Berkshire symphony; he continues to appear with the Hartford and Bridgeport symphonies. David was a staff trombonist for American Gramophone and may be heard on recordings by Mannheim Steamroller (Fresh Aire); Abendmusik Records and the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra. He is also bass trombonist with the Amherst Jazz Orchestra that performs bi-monthly in Amherst; the New England Jazz Ensemble and performs on all five of their CDs; the latest release in June, 2011 is currently being aired on Sirius XM radio. A veteran of New York touring companies, he has also appeared in production shows featuring many performers including Tony Bennett, Kevin Spacey, and was a member of Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road project. Mr. Wampler currently serves on the faculties of The College of St. Rose, Albany, NY, Bard College at Simon’s Rock, the Berkshire Music School, Pittsfield, Massachusetts and is a long standing member of the Berkshire Brass.
